Make a bookmark

A quick and easy sewing task, great for presents and personal use.

You will need:

16cm x 7cm white material (1cm on each side for seam allowence)
14cm x 5cm thick card
Threads and scraps of material of choice for applique/embroidery
Fabric glue
Tassel/ribbon

1. Iron your white fabric.

2. Pin and sew seams of 1cm on every edge.

3. Applique/embroider pattern of your choice. I chose to do A B C going downwards in matching colours.

4. Iron flat then glue onto card.

5. Add tassel/ribbon to decorate.

  2. I think that a bookmark would make a great Christmas present for anyone who likes reading books. I also think it would make a great birthday present, or a wonderful "thank you". If I got a handmade bookmark for a present, I would be really happy and use it all the time,
